Walk in the Woods

Is good for the soul.

Lately when everyone is yelling, screaming and arguing we head out into the woods. Instantly everyone calms, they find peace and are able to burn the energy that needs to get out.

Our current favorite spot is up at the Land of the Medicine Buddah. It's a beautiful, calm place that is also home to a local preschool. Our favorite thing is right amongst the trees us a playground...slide, swing and sand box....what's not to love!

It's these moments where we can find a good pace, and appreciate each other and the small discoveries that nature has to offer.

Garden=mud

Some of our favorite activities these days, digging and playing in the mud in the garden. While Tanner and Reese play Freya likes to watch the chickens...and see what she can find within arms reach.

Swaddling

We have always been big fans of the swaddling. As babies it was always their cue for sleep, you think it will still work?

Who says its just for infants?

Sing Me a Song...

There are so many ways to talk about this video:
  • Freya's rendition of the Piano Man
  • Freya does Mega Death
  • Freya our prodigy who can sing and play piano!
  • How Great is Tanner as a Big Brother?

I can't decide...I'll let you. But seriously, we keep watching this video and cracking up- make sure you have the volume up so you can hear her tunes!

Things I Can Do

It's been a while- so we thought we would update all of you with the latest tricks and talents of Miss. Freya:

she can sit...

she takes after Mama T and plays the piano

she can feed myself...well mostly. Sometimes she seem to miss, but we are working on it.

She hangs with her friends and discusses world peace.

She is a very busy, ever changing little person. So proud.

A Weiss in Training

This is for you Aunt Bev...

It was a good day

I have talked before about my son's friend Charlie.

Charlie was recently diagnosed with PPB,  a rare and often serious form of pediatric lung cancer.  While Charlie's case is rare, it was diagnosed early and many of the cysts in his lungs are benign.  Even so, he started a 4-6 month chemo regimen to deal with the very real possibility that these cyst could change at any time.

Many days Charlie is tired, he is frustrated and dealing with any number of side affects from his treatment. But today, today was a good day. We got to meet Charlie at the park.  Just for an hour, we watched them all play as kids should, run around playing transformers and alligators, eating hot dogs and telling stories.

Today, today was a good day.
